Colonel Herbert Noel “Herb” Harmon, USMC (Ret.) passed away on 10 March 2019 after an extraordinary life of servant leadership for the United States Marine Corps and the Legal Community of Washington, DC. Herb served on active duty as a platoon commander in the First Marine Division during the Vietnam War, receiving the Purple Heart in 1968. He retired from the United States Marine Corps Reserve in 1998 after 30 years of military service.

His legacy was characterized by his steadfast commitment to principles of selfless dedication, evident in his military service, legal career, and extensive volunteer contributions. Gifts given in his his memory will honor the service and sacrifice of Marines and Navy Corpsmen, while supporting their children as they pursue their dreams of a higher education. We will recognize this support through our National Capital Area Campaign, which focuses on raising funds and awareness of the Scholarship Foundation in DC, Maryland, and Virginia.
