The Nation’s oldest and largest provider of need-based scholarships to military children.
What is the purpose of the award ceremony?
The purpose of the ceremony is to highlight and celebrate the achievements of our Marine Scholars while also bringing together supporters and partners of the Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation.
If I received a scholarship, am I required to attend the ceremony?
No, you are not required to attend the ceremony but encouraged to come and celebrate your scholarship award!
How many spots are available for the award ceremony?
All Marine Scholars are invited to attend the ceremony, but there are only 50 available spots. Tickets will be on a first come first serve basis and those who are not part of the first 50 will be put on a waiting list.
How can I reserve my spot at the ceremony?
Official invitations will be sent via email in early June. The invite will include a link to RSVP to the event. TAKE NOTE that this step does not guarantee you a spot at the ceremony as there are only 50 available spots. If your RSVP is confirmed, you will be required to show proof of travel plans BY July 8th, which helps to mitigate last minute cancellations and to ensure other eager scholars have the opportunity to attend. Additionally, if your RSVP is confirmed, you will be asked to submit a 20 second video that will be used for a video montage during the ceremony.
Where is the award ceremony?
The ceremony will be held at the Marine Barracks in Washington, D.C.
(Fun Fact: The Marine Barracks is the oldest active post in the Marine Corps and has been the residence of every Commandant since 1806!)
Am I responsible for covering the cost of my travel expenses?
Yes. Students are responsible for their travel to and from the event as well as all meals and accommodations while in DC.
What are the benefits of attending the award ceremony?
Attending the ceremony not only gives you the opportunity to meet Scholarship Foundation staff and supporters, but you will also get to meet fellow Marine Scholars who are pursuing their dreams of higher education.
How many people can come to the ceremony with me?
Marine Scholars are allowed to bring up to two guests. Unfortunately, we are unable to make exceptions as we have limited space. Each guest name will need to be provided when you RSVP for the event, and due to security protocols, we cannot accommodate changes.
