Memorial Day Reflections

On Memorial Day, we reflect on the sacrifices of those who gave all to protect freedom. Those who made the choice to put country before self. Those who gave a lifetime to defend others.

The selflessness of the men and women who have earned the title Marine is a thread woven throughout American history. From the first Marines who ushered in democracy during the Revolution, to those who seventy-five years ago raised the American flag on Mount Suribachi, to those who are forward-deployed today serving as the Nation’s Expeditionary Force-in-Readiness, the mission has changed but the sacrifice has not.

It is our duty to ensure that Marines, and their families, know their country stands beside them, especially during this day of remembrance and reflection. At the Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation, we are committed to honoring the service of Marines and Navy Corpsman by educating their children. They made it their life’s work to protect and serve our Nation – we are honored to help their children attend college or technical school.

On behalf of the Scholarship Foundation, our board of directors, staff and Marine families everywhere, I hope you and your family are healthy and safe on this Memorial Day.

Semper Fidelis,

This Giving Tuesday, we need to fund 24 Marine Scholarships in 24 hours.

We are faced with an unprecedented challenge: more Marine children than ever before are seeking scholarship support. With your Giving Tuesday gift before midnight on 12/3, you can honor Marines with a donation that helps educate their children.
