Marine Scholarship Foundation Offers Ag Program Scholarships

The Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation is the oldest and largest provider of need-based scholarships to military children. In the 2023-2024 academic year, MCSF awarded over $1.16 million nationwide for CTE scholarship support to Marine Scholars.

Last week, the United States Senate unanimously passed a bipartisan resolution recognizing February 2024 as Career and Technical Education Month, led by Senate CTE Caucus co-chairs Sens. Ted Budd (R-N.C.), Tammy Baldwin (D-Wis.), Todd Young (R-Ind.), Tim Kaine (D-Va.) and Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa).

Now, with February recognized as Career and Technical Education Month. the MCSF is opening up applications for non-degree certificate programs of any length. This includes agriculture-based program scholarships.

The MCSF CTE scholarship application is available year-round for students attending certificate training or other programs of less than 12 months, and 100 percent of those eligible receive aid.

Agriculture offers diverse career opportunities, ranging from farming and ranching to agribusiness, agronomy, and agricultural engineering. CTE programs in agriculture provide hands-on training and skills development that can lead to rewarding careers, making these scholarships particularly valuable for the children of servicemen who may be considering careers in this field.

Applicants must be the child of a Marine, Navy Corpsman, or Religious Program Specialist who served with Marines, are on active duty or were honorably discharged, have a GPA of 2.0 or higher, and demonstrate financial need.

A deadline is not listed, but further details about the CTE scholarship and application can be found here.

Overall, Ag scholarships can play a crucial role in supporting military children’s educational and career aspirations during CTE month, empowering them to pursue opportunities in agriculture and related fields.
