Candice Thomas joined the Scholarship Foundation in July 2012 as a part of the Data Operations department. During that time, she developed processes and procedures that ensured the integrity of the database. As the Director of Grants, she is responsible for the successful management and daily operation of the Foundation’s grant program. Candice works across all departments to ensure the grant program contributes to opportunities for growth and increased revenue in support of the Foundation’s fundraising goals. Candice holds an undergraduate degree from Kentucky State University in Business Management and a Master’s of Public Administration from Oakland University. She currently resides in Washington DC.

80 Years, 80 Miles in His Honor

Eighty years ago, on June 26, 1944, Sergeant Richard Herman Young, “B” Company, 1st Battalion, 23rd Marines, 4th Marine Division, was killed in action in Saipan during World War II. Now his son, Hal, who is 90 years old, is walking 80 miles in his father's honor.
