Benjamin T. Ackison, known affectionately as Ben or Benny, lived a remarkable life that touched the hearts of many. From his upbringing in West Virginia and Virginia Beach to his unconventional journey through law school and his distinguished service as a Marine, Ben’s story was one of resilience, determination, and boundless charisma. He excelled in every role he undertook, but above all his greatest joy came from being a devoted father to his daughter Angelina Rose. Ben’s magnetic personality and unwavering dedication to his Marines endeared him to all who knew him, leaving behind a legacy of camaraderie, laughter, and unforgettable memories.

80 Years, 80 Miles in His Honor

Eighty years ago, on June 26, 1944, Sergeant Richard Herman Young, “B” Company, 1st Battalion, 23rd Marines, 4th Marine Division, was killed in action in Saipan during World War II. Now his son, Hal, who is 90 years old, is walking 80 miles in his father's honor.
