Letter from the President
Margaret B. Davis
Our 2014–2015 class of scholarship recipients represents some of America’s best and brightest. Raised by Marine Corps families that instilled in them
the values of honor, courage, and commitment, the 2,200 to whom we have awarded scholarships this year are the next generation of America’s leaders. Nowhere was this more evident than at our Scholarship Announcement Ceremonies held in July in Washington, D.C., Camp Lejeune, and Camp Pendleton. We were privileged to have been joined by so many students, their families, Marine Corps leaders, investors, and volunteers at these special celebrations. I hope you will read more about our 2014 ceremonies on page 4.
This summer we are not only celebrating our scholars, but our supporters and their overwhelming generosity. On June 26, Toyota announced an additional $1.35 million contribution to the Scholarship Foundation that will create as many as 300 new scholarships for children of Marines and Navy Corpsmen over the next five years. Toyota has supported the Scholarship Foundation since 2004, and
this gift brings their total investment in the Foundation to more than $3 million. Toyota’s expanded commitment will help ensure that the Scholarship Foundation can continue to award a scholarship to every eligible child who applies. We deeply appreciate Toyota’s generosity and its long-standing commitment to our military and education.
The investment that Toyota — and YOU — make in our students is an investment in our next generation of leaders. It’s your continued support that makes their dreams a reality and for that we say a most heartfelt Thank You.
In the spirit of Semper Fidelis, Margaret B. Davis
President and CEO
