American Patriots Campaign Leadership Summit
The Scholarship Foundation created the American
Patriots Campaign in 2007 to ensure that every
eligible child of a Marine — today and for generations
to come — would have an opportunity to pursue higher
education. Having raised more than $89,200,000 to
date toward the $100,000,000 goal we hope to meet
by 2018, the American Patriots Campaign Cabinet
met in Washington, D.C., on June 18 for a tour of the
Pentagon and meeting with General John M. Paxton,
Assistant Commandant of the Marine Corps, before
receiving a briefing from Major General Frederick M.
Padilla, Director of Operations, Plans, and Policies,
Headquarters Marine Corps. More than 100 guests
capped the day’s events with a reception at the Home
of the Commandants, Marine Barracks Washington,
hosted by General James F. Amos and his wife, Bonnie.
Joining cabinet members were eight scholarship
recipients whose educations have been made possible by
the continued success of the campaign and the generosity of investors across the country.
Eight National Capital Area Scholarship Recipients attended the APC and spent time with Chairman of the Board Gen Martin R. Steele USMC (Ret.), General and Mrs. James F. Amos and Margaret B. Davis at the Home of the Commandants.
