This policy has been created by the Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation to establish our commitment to privacy. The following information is a disclosure of our information gathering and distribution practices for the Scholarship Foundation’s web site.

General Information Collection and Use

The Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation collects information from users at several different points on our site. However, the Scholarship Foundation is the single owner of the information collected. This information will never be sold, shared or rented to any other persons different from what is disclosed in our policy.

The Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation will use IP addresses to administer the Web site, track users’ movements, analyze trends and gather general demographic statistics. A user’s IP address is not linked to any form of identifiable information.

Various Registrations

In order to use certain features of this Web site, a user may be prompted to fill out a registration form. Users will be required to fill in basic contact information (such as a name, email address and phone number). This information will only be used to contact the user about services on our site for which they have expressed interest.  The Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation will not use this information to directly contact users about any other unspecified items. Occasionally users will be asked to provide demographic information.  The reporting of this information is optional.

 

Newsletter

Users who wish to sign up for our newsletter will be asked for basic contact information (such as a name and email address). Information provided by users will only be used for newsletter purposes.

 

MyMCSF

The MyMCSF section of our site is intended to provide relevant resources to different audiences. To create a MyMCSF account, users will be required to provide basic contact information and create a user name and password. The collection of contact information will streamline all registrations throughout the site and make site navigation faster. This contact information may also be used in instances by the Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation to get in touch with users about items related to their MyMCSF accounts.

 

Sharing

Aggregated demographic information may be shared with our partners and advertisers. These general demographic statistics are not linked to any personal information that would identify an individual.

 

The Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation uses an outside credit card processing company to bill users for services. This company does not retain, share, store or use any personally identifiable information for a secondary purpose.

 

In order to present users with the best experience, the Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation may at times partner with a third party to provide specific services. Under these circumstances, we will share names and additional contact information necessary for the third party to offer these services. The third party will not use personally identifiable information outside of the purpose of providing their service.

 

Tell-A-Friend

If a user chooses to inform a friend about our web site through our referral service, the user will be prompted to give his or her friend’s name and email address. This friend will then be sent a one-time email from the Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation, directing them to our site. The friend’s name and email address is stored for the single purpose of sending our one-time email invitation. If the friend wishes to remove his or her information from the Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation database, he or she can contact us at info@mcsf.org.
