Bernard A. Pekala (MA)
Bernie is currently the Director of Student Financial Strategies, Boston College and serves as the University's chief financial strategist in the areas of student financial aid, loans, accounts, collections, receivables, reconciliations and payments. Among other duties, he is responsible for the establishment of policies related to financial aid and aid budgets, monitors and integrates federal, state and institutional programs for financial aid, and develops approaches to meet the financial need of all students. He has been a frequent presenter at NASFAA (National Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators), EASFAA (Eastern Association…), MASFAA (Massachusetts Association…) and the College Board. Currently, he is serving on NASFAA’s Student Debt Task Force and is the Past-President of MASFAA. He is a long-time member of MASFAA’s Government Relations Committee and past Chair. Before working for Boston College, Bernie worked for Tufts University and Emerson College.
